Join us in April and become part of a story that keeps memories alive through running.
Every year in April, the municipality of Cestica brings together runners, friends and family to celebrate the life and memory of Matija Milec, a passionate runner. This race, dedicated to his love of sport and the freedom he found in every step, invites everyone to join in on the 2.5 km, 5 km, 10 km or 21 km routes. Unfortunately, Matija tragically left us at the age of 28, while training on the embankment of the Varaždin HPP reservoir, preparing for the next half marathon. Although he left us too soon, his memory still lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In the week of Matija's birthday, we come together to celebrate his life, his smile, and his love of running. This race is not just a sporting event – it is a symbol of togetherness, a love of life, and an opportunity to remember a person who inspired others with his example.
Anyone can register – regardless of whether you are an experienced runner or want to participate symbolically, every step in this race carries an important message.
Together we run along his paths, to the rhythm of his favorite songs, in memory of everything Matija loved and represented.
